Through this initiative we hope to encourage our community to SHOP LOCAL, EAT LOCAL, & USE LOCAL SERVICES.
To do this, we have developed El Paso's first coloring book.
WHY A COLORING BOOK?
The magic word in marketing is RETENTION. Door hangers, pamphlets, flyers and magazines have a short shelf life. What this means is THEY GET THROWN AWAY. That’s just the sad reality. When we asked 600 parents how long a Coloring Book stays within the household, the number one answer was FOREVER.
THE DYNAMIC
To test out our product we asked our good friends at Great American if we could observe what families did with our magazine.
At first the kids were handed a Coloring Book and crayons. The kids immediately interacted with the book. The moment any page was colored they showed it to the parents. The moment the parents saw it they were immediately engaged and started going through the book as they recognized the different local companies and looked over their promos.
Then of course the kids asked for the book back while the parents hesitated to give it back as they were intrigued and talked about how creative the book was.
Each book was taken home!
Time & time again the same thing happened with various families.
ADDING A DIFFERENT LOOK
Each page on our book consist of two elements:
Top Illustration- Here we create whatever the client wants us draw to represent their business. This is the fun part that helps us interact as we color.
Bottom Ribbon: Here we find the business logo, contact info, and promo. We also create QR codes which help people interact and find the businesses website or social media.
